Iheanacho’s Market Value Hits 11-Year Low
Kelechi Iheanacho’s market value has slumped to its lowest point in 11 years, dropping to €3 million in the latest Transfermarkt update for the Scottish Premiership.
The Celtic forward, once heralded as one of Nigeria’s brightest attacking talents, has seen his worth fall steadily after peaking in June 2021.
That summer marked the high point of his career when his goals helped Leicester City win the FA Cup. Iheanacho scored four times in six FA Cup matches, including a brace and an assist in the famous 3-1 quarter-final victory over Manchester United.
His performances pushed his valuation up to €20 million, a figure he maintained through two subsequent updates.
By November 2022, however, his value had slipped to €17 million, before a slight recovery of €1 million seven months later.
What followed was a steady decline, culminating in the latest figure of €3 million. The Nigerian forward now ranks 3,279th among all players worldwide, 32nd in the Scottish Premiership, 16th at Celtic, and 39th among Nigerian footballers.
This trajectory reflects a career that once promised so much but has struggled for consistency in recent years, leaving Iheanacho fighting to rediscover the form that made him one of the most valuable strikers in Europe just five years ago.
