Ikorodu City FC are fired up for their first Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, Southwest derby this weekend as they host Shooting Stars of Ibadan at the Mobolaji Johnson arena at Onikan, Lagos.
The Oga Boys are in a rich vein of form at the moment after defeating Katsina United 2-1 at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina for their first ever NPFL away win in their debut season in the competition and their fourth win in their last six games.
‘Our first NPFL Southwest Derby this weekend. Back at the Arena and back in front of our beloved fans. Get ready to fill the arena to the rafters,’ the club wrote on their official X handle.
Ikorodu City FC will be confident they can win their first three games in a row in the NPFL and also their first four straight home wins after defeating Bendel Insurance, Lobi Stars and Rivers United.
Shooting Stars will be looking to build on their impressive 3-0 win last weekend when they ended El Kanemi Warriors’ unbeaten start to the season.
The Oluyole Warriors know they will need to get their first away win of the season after losing their last four and have picked just a draw on the road since the start of the 2024/25 NPFL season.
