Incredible Russell makes it 3-0 over Charlton in 2025 with 7.76 World at 117th Millrose Games
Paris 2024 Olympics 100m hurdles champion, Masai Russell made a statement of intent ahead of next month’s World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China with her incredible, 7.76 world lead to win the 60m hurdles at the 117th Millrose Games in New York on Sunday.
The American lady also made it a 3-0 win over reigning World indoor champion and record holder, Devynee Charlton of the Bahamas so far this year after winning their head to head clashes first at the Texas Tech Corky Classic in Texas where Russell came first (7.89) with Charlton second (7.93) and at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston where the Olympic champion ran a then 7.80 personal season’s best to win ahead of the Bahamian who was third in 7.85.
Charlton came third again in New York albeit she improved her personal season’s best to 7.83 and just behind Paris 2024 Olympics finalist, Grace Stark of America who came in second in 7.82.
In the men’s version, Dylan Beard ran a 7.37 World lead, meeting record and personal best to win ahead of Cordell Tinch who ran a 7.48 personal best for second and Cameron Murray who ran a personal season’s best (7.52).
In the women’s 60m, Jacious Sears of American ran a new 7.02 lifetime best and world lead to win ahead of Celera Barnes (7.15) and Aleia Hobbs (7.16).
