Inter Milan keen to sign Paul Onuachu in January
See Super Eagles star as perfect alternative to Edin Dzeko
Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan want to sign Nigerian international forward Paul Onuachu during the current winter transfer window.
Inter, according to a report by Calcioline, are eager to capture the 27 year old KRC Genk forward as perfect alternative to Edin Dzeko.
The 2021/22 January transfer window opened on Saturday, 1 January, 2022 but trading in the Italian Serie A actually officially kicked off on Monday, 3rd of January.
Dzeko was signed from Roma to replace Romelu Lukaku in the summer and has been great for Inter after netting three goals in six Champions League games and eight goals in 18 Serie A matches.
But the Bosnian is now 35-years-old and Inter CEO, Beppe Marotta is already looking for the best options in the market with onuachu seen as a serious alternative to Dzeko.
Boasting good height and technical ability, Onuachu is almost a like-for-like alternative to Dzeko with a 66-goal contribution (59 goals and seven assists) in 95 matches for Genk.
The Nigerian is, however, presently recovering from a hamstring injury that ruled him out of Nigeria’s squad for the 2021 African Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon.
Onuachu is currently valued at 22 million euros as per Transfermarkt. Any interested suitor would have to cough up a figure around that sum to convince Genk to sell off their prized asset.
