Isaiah Williams Eyes Victory as Rivers Hoopers Begin NPBL Final Eight Campaign

As the 2025 Nigeria Premier Basketball League (NPBL) Final Eight Playoffs tip off, Rivers Hoopers’ newest recruit, Isaiah Williams, has made his intentions clear: winning is the only goal.
The 30-year-old American guard, who joined the reigning champions just in time for the playoffs, is set to make his league debut with the KingsMen and is already feeling at home.
‘I love it here so far. Since day one, everybody’s treated me like family. They’ve been very welcoming, and I can’t wait to get started,’ Williams shared.
Known for his sharp court vision, precise passing, and efficient shooting, Williams arrives with a strong pedigree.
He recently starred for Patriots Basketball Club during the 2025 Rwanda League Playoffs semifinals against APR, where he posted standout performances, 16 points and 6 assists in Game One, followed by 22 points, 7 assists, and 2 steals in Game Three.
Having also played for Mexico’s Los Mochis earlier this year, Williams now joins the six-time NPBL champions with a clear mission: help Rivers Hoopers secure a third consecutive league title.
‘Every time I step on the court I try to win. That’s all that matters,’ he said. ‘It’s already a winning club, and I wanted to come here to help the team win again.’
Rivers Hoopers will begin their playoff journey against Hoops & Read at 6pm on Monday, October 27, at the Basketball Stadium, #59 Niger Street, Port Harcourt Township, Rivers State.
