‘It’s not easy to find a player who combines his height, his speed and his level of coordination like Osimhen’, says García, Galatasaray’s assistant coach

Ismael García, Galatasaray’s assistant coach, has hailed Victor Osimhen as a special player whose arrival in Istanbul has had a positive effect on the club.

The 25-year-old is on loan at the Turkish Super Lig side from Galatasaray and has scoring with extraordinary regularity, participating in all the offensive actions of his new team.

García told Spanish media outlet, Marca, the incredible talent of the Super Eagle and how he arrived in Turkey.

‘Victor found himself in the situation that, if he had continued in Naples, he would have stayed to train alone and without playing. I remember him perfectly.

‘Before playing against Adana (31 August) they talked to us about the possibility and, returning to the airport, just before taking off, the coach (Okan Buruk) had a video call with Osimhen. From there everything closed very quickly”.

“We were one of the few teams that offered the chance to fight for titles and play in European competitions. In addition, Victor also appreciates the fact that football is 100% lived in Istanbul.

‘Like in Naples. I was surprised by Osimhen’s humility in adapting to a club that, before his arrival, already had important figures such as Icardi, Muslera, Mertens. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a player who conditioned the opponent so much. He attracts the attention of the entire defensive line, not just his scorers.

‘Even so, it is capable of generating actions on its own. And he has an athletic ability that is difficult to see in world football. It’s not easy to find a player who combines his height, his speed and his level of coordination,” added Ismael García.
