It’s Not Over Yet: Rosenior Insists Chelsea Still in the Fight Despite 5-2 Defeat At PSG

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior admitted his side’s 5-2 defeat to Paris Saint‑Germain was ‘a very disappointing result’ despite being competitive for much of the night.

‘For so much of the game I was really happy. The last 15-20 minutes were crazy. We need to be better with setbacks and we need to stay calm and we didn’t. It’s a painful scoreline because for 75 minutes we were way in the tie,’ he said post match.

Rosenior defended goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen after his costly error at 2-2, insisting mistakes are part of football.

‘Players make mistakes, Filip is not the first one to make a mistake, that’s part of football. In that moment at 2-2 we were in the ascendancy… but in the Champions League it is fine margins.’

He admitted the fifth goal was ‘the most painful one after a flashpoint.’

Despite the heavy defeat, Rosenior insisted the tie is not over.

‘Very difficult, but not impossible to come back from,’ he said.

Chelsea now face the daunting task of overturning a three-goal deficit at Stamford Bridge next week.
