Iwobi and Bassey believe Fulham can beat Man United at Old Trafford

Nigeria duo of Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey say Fulham players need to have the belief they can go toOld Trafford and beat Manchester United in their Premier League matchweek 26 tie Saturday.

The Nigerians told the club’s official website that aside the tactics Marco Silva, the club’s head coach is deploying for the match, having the confidence and the belief theycan become the fifth Premier League tam to beat the Red Devils at Old Trafford is also key.

‘We just need to believe we can do it,’ says Bassey who will be keen to have his first win against Man United in only his second appearance against the 20-time Premier League champions.

‘We have to believe that we can go there and have the ball and create opportunities. At the end of the day, it’s about enjoying football. And we all enjoy playing good football and scoring goals and winning, so that’s what we are going to try and do.’

‘Apart from the technical and tactical side of it, I think it’s just believing in yourself. Obviously we know they have got a good atmosphere, they’ve got a big stadium but we’re there to do a job.

‘It’s just about focusing. Obviously the gaffer has told us on where we can hurt them. We are just going to try to execute the game plan as good as we can,’ said Bassey who will be making his 20th appearance for Fulham across all competitions.

Iwobi agrees and believes they have mapped out the strategies to hurt their host on Saturday evening.

‘I am looking forward to it. I mean Old Trafford, the pitch is huge, so I need to make sure my lungs are ready for that game. We’ll analyze them and see where we can hurt them and stop their strengths,’ the 27 year old said.

Iwobi will be gunning for his third win and score his second goal in 13 matches in the Premier League against the Red Devils.
