Iwobi eyeing first FA Cup goal against Man United, Aina looking to score since 2018

Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi will be looking to score his first FA Cup goal against Manchester United in three appearances and third goal overall across all competitions when his team, Fulham play the Red Devils in the 5th Round of the FA Cup at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Iwobi scored his first goal against Manchester United in a Premier League match in his last season at Everton in a 2-1 loss and again inspired Fulham to a historic 2-1 victory at the Theater of dreams last season in the league, with his compatriot Calvin Bassey scoring the other goal.

The 29-year-old was on the losing side on two occasions against the Red Devils in the English topflight this season. United have won home and away against the Cottagers this season and Iwobi, alongside his teammates, would be seeking some revenge against the Ruben Amorim side.

The Nigeria international has already reached his highest-scoring season in the Premier League already this campaign. Iwobi has netted seven goals and provided seven assists in the league this season.

At the City Ground, Ola Aina will be hoping he gets to play when his side hosts fellow Premier League side, Ipswich.

The Nigerian is having a phenomenal season and will be keen to score in the oldest cup competition in the world for the first time since January 2018 when he scored the only goal of the game at Ewood Park where his side, Hull City went, saw and conquered Blackburn Rovers in a third round clash.

Aina’s compatriot at the City Ground, Taiwo Awoniyi looks a sure starter against Ipswich and the forward will be keen to score for the second time in his third appearance in the competition this season.

The 27 year old was on song when Forest defeated Exeter City 6-4 on penalties.
