Iwobi makes 194th Premier League start, Bassey set for 30th game
Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey have both been named in Fulham’s opening game of the 2024/2025 Premier League season away at Manchester United with the former making his 194th start in 254 appearances in the competition.
The former Arsenal star made his Premier League debut in October 2015, coming on as a late substitute in the Gunners’ 3-0 bashing of Swansea at the Liberty stadium (now Swansea.cm stadium).
The Nigerian did not however start his first Premier League game until the following March when he featured for 86 minutes and scored his first goal of the competition in Arsenal’s 2-0 win at Goodison Park against their host, Arsenal.
Bassey is also starting his 26th goal in what will be his 30th appearance in the competition in only his second season.
Both Iwobi and Bassey scored when Fulham defeated Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford last season, the Cottagers first win in 20 years at the red side of Manchester.
