Iwobi, Ndidi, Aina, Bassey are Naija Premier League stat leaders after 11 games

The quartet of Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, Calvin Bassey and Wilfred Ndidi will be joining the Super Eagles team in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game against the Cheetahs of Republic of Benin as Premier League stat leaders after 11 match weeks.

Fulham midfielder, Iwobi is Nigerian top scorer in the Premier League so far this season with two goals while his compatriot at Craven Cottage, Calvin Bassey has made the most touches (804) among the Nigerian players in the competition this term.

Bassey and the trio of Wilfred Ndidi, Ola Aina and Iwobi have also featured in all 11 games played so far in the competition this season with the four also starting all the games.

The Fulham midfielder is however the only one in the group that have played the greatest number of minutes (909) so far this term.

Aina, the Nottingham Forest left back who has been rated one of the best performers for Nuno Santos’ side has kept the most cleansheets (3) of the Nigerian defenders and defensive midfielders in the competition.

The former Chelsea, Fulham and Hull City man has also made the most interceptions (14).

Ndidi, who returned to the Premier League with Leicester City after a season in the Sky Bet Championship, has made the most tackles (36) among the Nigerians in the league and he is third among all players this season in the competition.

Ndidi has also provided the most assists by any Nigerian so far with four and is in the race to break the single season assists record (7) jointly owned by Peter Odemwingie and Iwobi.

The Leicester City man and Bassey have collected the most yellow cards (3) and have made the most number of blocks (10 each).

While Taiwo Awoniyi has been subbed on more times (7) than any Nigerian so far in the Premier League this term, Ndidi has been subbed off the greatest number of times (6).
