Iwobi, Onyeka, Bassey arrive Eagles camp for Benin, Rwanda AFCON 2025 games
Premier League duo of Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey as well as new Augsburg of Germany’s Frank Onyeka have swelled the number of players in the Super Eagles camp ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games against the Cheetahs of Republic of Benin and the Amavubi of Rwanda.
The Super Eagles will face the Cheetahs, coached by former Nigeria manager, Gernot Rohr, at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo this weekend before travelling to Kigali in Rwanda where they will be guest of the Amavubi.
Interestingly, Nigeria’s two opponents are coached by Germans as Torsten Spittler, the Amavubi coach is a German.
The 14 Eagles in camp including the trio that arrived Tuesday morning are Ademola Lookman, William Troost-Ekong, Wilfred Ndidi, Amos Obasogie, Stanley Nwabali, Taiwo Awoniyi, Ola Aina, Olisa Ndah, Victor Boniface, Semi Ajayi and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.
