Iwobi To Drop Debut Rap Album ‘More To Life’ April 9
Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi is stepping into the music industry with the release of his debut rap EP, marking a new chapter in his career beyond football.
The 29-year-old Nigerian international, who has scored four goals and provided three assists in the Premier League this season, revealed that his first album will drop on April 9.
The project, titled More To Life, features nine tracks and collaborations with artists including 24am, Teniola Time, Gidi, Fido, and SPKS. Two songs will see Iwobi perform solo.
Iwobi, who records under the moniker ’17’, a nod to his shirt number at Arsenal, Everton, and Fulham, first began releasing music anonymously on YouTube before going public in 2024.
His Instagram announcement showcased the album artwork and tracklist, generating excitement among fans.
Music has long served as a creative outlet for Iwobi, who describes it as a form of therapy and a way to spread positive messages.
His earlier tracks, such as Don’t Shoot in 2024, drew inspiration from his childhood experiences and social issues.
He has also collaborated with fellow footballer Chuba Akpom, known as Skoli, and British rapper Ramz on the track Hop Out.
With More To Life, Iwobi aims to balance his football career with his passion for music, proving himself as a man of many talents both on and off the pitch.
