Josh Maja nominated for Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award
Josh Maja has been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award.
The Nigerian helped the Baggies pick up ten points from their four matches in the opening month of the 2024/25 campaign, securing away victories at QPR and Stoke, as well as a home triumph over Swansea and a goalless draw with Leeds United.
The 25-year-old who joined West Brom in 2023 bagged a hat-trick in the club’s 3-1 victory against QPR on the first day, before going on to score the winner in the 2-1 success at Stoke City.
Maja is joint-top scorer in the division, with Oxford United’s Mark Harris and Millwall’s Duncan Watmore also finding the net four times so far this term.
In the final match of the month, Josh also laid the ball on a plate for Jayson Molumby to score the decisive strike when the Baggies defeated Swansea City 1-0.
Maja faces competition for the Player of the Month award from both Harris and Watmore, as well as Sunderland defender Luke O’Nien.
The winner will be announced on Friday, September 13.
