Kano Pillars 2-1 Niger Tornadoes: Ahmed Musa is Pillars’ match winner for the fourth time!

Former Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa was Kano Pillars’ hero again after his 93rd minute goal gave his side a 2-1 win against visiting Niger Tornadoes in a Nigeria Premier Football League matchday 18 games at the Sani Abacha stadium in Kano on Saturday.

Rashid Alhassan scored the opener for the host on 30 minutes, but the visitors levelled scored after the restart with Mohammed Aliyu netting the equalizer on 60 minutes.

The match seems to be heading for a draw after 90 minutes of regulation but Musa, like he has done at least three times since he rejoined the team in October, came up with the match winner in the third minute (93rd) of the five minutes added time to ensure the Sai Masu Gida returned to winning ways after losing 2-0 to Shooting Stars in Ibadan in the previous game.

Musa’s first goals for Kano Pillars came early in October when his brace in the 2-0 defeat of Sunshine Stars at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina gave the Kano state team their second hoe win of the season.

The former Nigeria international’s goal in first half added time in Pillars’ incredible 4-3 win at Enugu Rangers proved the match winner after the host came from four goals down in the first half to score thrice in the second half but it was too late to rescue any point for the Flying Antelopes.

Musa was also the hero early last month when he scored a 92nd minute goal in Kano Pillars’ 2-1 defeat of Plateau United. He was on song again at home when his side came from behind to draw 2-2 with Emmanuel Amuneke’s Heartland.

The game, played at the Sani Abacha stadium saw Pillars come twice from behind to salvage a draw with Musa netting the second equalizer with just 15 minutes left in regulation time.

The Musa magic was, again, on display on Saturday with his 93rd minute which has moved Kano Pillars to seventh on the log with 25 points from 17 games and a game at hand.
