Kano Pillars Vs Enyimba: Battle of ex-Eagles as Musa battles Ideye in Kano
It will be a battle of former Super Eagles stars when Kano Pillars host Enyimba international of Aba at the Sani Abacha stadium in Kano in a rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, game.
Former Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa made a sensational return to Kano Pillars after a stint in Europe and has helped the club to win some games by scoring the winner.
Musa’s 91st minute strike in Kano Pillars last game of the first stanza of the league before the break last December proved to be the winner as the Sai Masu Gida defeated Niger Tornadoes 2-1 in Kano.
The visitors had restored parity when Mohammed Aliyu scored on 60 minutes to cancel out the 30th minute goal netted by Ghananian defender, Rashid Alhassan for the host.
Like Musa, Ideye is also back in the NPFL and has scored twice in many games for Enyimba with his last goal being the winner in the People’s Elephants’ 2-1 defeat of Nasarawa United at the Enyimba international stadium in Aba.
The win was Enyimba’s first in the NPFL since late October 2024 when they scored late to defeat Ikorodu City 2-1 in Aba.
And as Kano Pillars are now set to face Enyimba International in the highly anticipated ZOBIA Clasico, all eyes will be on the Super Eagles duo.
A win for the host will move them to seventh on the log with 28 points from 19 games, and above Enyimba who are currently seventh on the log with 27 points from 17 games.
