Lautaro Martinez moves four goals clear of Osimhen, tipped as 2023/24 Serie A top scorer

Lautaro Martinez netted four times on Saturday in Inter Milan’s 4-0 mauling of Salernitana in a Serie A matchweek seven fixture and the Argentine moved four goals clear of Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen who earlier scored in Napoli’s 4-1 defeat of Lecce.

Like Osimhen, the Inter Milan forward was subbed on for former Arsenal player, Alexis Sanchez on 55 minutes and fired the Nerazzurrini ahead seven minutes later.

Further goals on 77, 85 and 89 minutes ensured Inter tied city rival, AC Milan at the top of the log and moved him top of the scoring chart with nine goals, four more than Osimhen in second place.

Meanwhile, Lautaro has been tipped to succeed Osimhen as the top scorer in the Serie A at the end of the season.

The Nigerian scored 26 goals last season to make history as the first African player to end a Serie A season as top scorer. His goals also helped Inter Milan to their first Scudetto in 33 years.

Osimhen has been tipped to come second in the race at 2.75 (the odds drop) behind Lautaro whose odds is given at 2.25 with Juventus striker, Dusan Vlahovic offered at 4.50
