‘Let’s Not Get Carried Away’: Says MVP Rice After Gunners’ 3-1 Defeat of Bayern

Declan Rice was named Player of the Match after Arsenal’s impressive 3-1 victory over Bayern Munich, but the midfielder was quick to temper expectations in his post-match reflections.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Rice hailed Bayern as ‘the best team in Europe this season’ and admitted the clash was ‘probably the toughest game tactically we have played.’

He praised Arsenal’s second-half approach, saying: ‘We went man to man with them and I thought tonight we were outstanding. The manager is so happy. It was a special European night.’

Rice stressed the importance of staying grounded despite the result.

‘Yes, definitely it feels different to last season. There are so many leaders in the team. We are just taking it one game at a time. There is a hunger and desire to win every game. There is a long way to go, let’s not get carried away.’

The England international also highlighted the impact of new signing Martín Zubimendi, describing their partnership as seamless.

‘It’s been so easy to play with Martín. From the first moment we had with each other in pre-season, I just knew we’d play some good football. I really like him, he’s such a nice guy. He is Spain’s No.6 and you know what Spain No.6’s are like. He has been so, so good for us. Every game requires something different. Every player knows their role.’
