Liam Keen dismisses Iheanacho to Wolves rumours
Liam Keen, a journalist with Birmingham-based Express and Star newspaper, has dismissed rumours linking Kelechi Iheanacho to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Nigerian left England on a free transfer last July after spending nine years playing for Manchester City and Leicester City in the Premier League.
The 28-year-old joined Sevilla in the Spanish LaLiga but has been reduced to a bit-part player as he has struggled to score a goal in La Liga.
Following his indifferent start to life in Spain, Iheanacho has been linked with a return to England.
‘There has been a little bit about Kelechi Iheanacho at Sevilla. He is a player that Wolves liked previously, they looked at him previously when he was at Leicester but they didn’t move for him at the time.
‘While there are rumours about the club being in talks to sign him but as far as we understand that is not the case.
‘Wolves are not making a move for him as it stands but he is a player that they have liked previously,’ Keen said on the E&S podcast.
