Libyan authorities hold Super Eagles hostage at Al Abraq airport, 215km from Benina!

The Libyan authorities are reportedly playing dirty games with the Super Eagles of Nigeria after diverting the Value Jet aircraft carrying the Nigerian team billed to land at the Benina International Airport to another city.

According to Nigerian officials, the aircraft was diverted to land at the Al Abraq airport in Al Abraq.

‘About an hour to landing, the Nigerian aircraft approaching its destination, Benghazi, was diverted to another city more than two-hour drive from the original destination,’ wrote the Nigerian team on its social media handles and a video of the stranded team at the Al Abaq airport.

The town is located in the Derna District of northeastern Libya and situated about 23 kilometers east of Bayda. It is also near Al Abraq International Airport, which is about 16 kilometers west of Al Abraq

Al Abraq International Airport is approximately 215 kilometers (about 134 miles) away from Benina International Airport in Benghazi.

The Libyan could be paying back the Nigerians in their own coin after protesting their maltreatment by Nigerian officials when they landed in Nigeria for their game last Friday.

The NFF denied the accusation and said the Libyans caused their own problem.
