Lookman Climbs to 3rd on Nigeria’s All-Time AFCON Top Scorers List, Equals Odegbami and Aghahowa

Ademola Lookman has joined Segun Odegbami and Julius Aghahowa in Nigeria’s all-time Africa Cup of Nations scoring charts after netting his sixth goal in the competition.

The 27-year-old forward opened the scoring in Nigeria’s Round of 16 clash against Mozambique, striking in the 20th minute from an Alex Iwobi assist.

The goal was his third of the 2025 AFCON campaign in just three matches, adding to the three he scored on his tournament debut in Côte d’Ivoire in 2024.

With six goals in 10 AFCON appearances, Lookman now sits joint-third on Nigeria’s all-time list, level with Odegbami and Aghahowa.

Only Rashidi Yekini, who leads with 13 goals, and Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, with seven, have scored more for the Super Eagles at the continental showpiece.
