Lookman moves above Salah, becomes fourth Most Valuable African footballer

Ademola Lookman has had a 9% increase in his market value to move from €55m to €60m following Transfermarkt’s update on the Serie A market values.
The reigning African footballer has thus moved above Liverpool and Egypt star, Mo Salah whose value Transfermarkt puts at €55m, same as Chelsea’s Senegal forward, Nicholas Jackson.
The Nigerian is now the fourth most value African after Man City and Egypt star, Omar Marmoush (€75m), compatriot Victor Osimhen (€70m) and PSG and Morocco right back, Achraf Hakimi (€65m).
Lookman is also the sixth most valuable player in the Serie A but number one in his club, Atalanta.
The 27-year-old remains the second most valuable Nigerian behind Osimhen, ranked number 1 among all players playing as second striker and number 56 among all players worldwide.
The former Leicester City, Everton and Fulham player has been having a steady growth in his market value since it moved back to its previous highest of €20m in November 2022.
It soared to €30m in 2023, first moved to €40m in June 2024 before ending the year at €55m.
In its first upgrade in 2025, Lookman has moved to €60m to become the third Nigerian ever to reach the €60m valuation after Osimhen and Wilfred Ndidi.
