Lookman named best Serie A player after 13 rounds of matches
Football Italia has ranked Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman as the best performing outfield player while David De Gea, the Fiorentina goalkeeper is the best shot stopper in the Serie A over the first 13 matches of the 2024-25 season.
According to Football Italia, the ‘ranking is based on average player ratings from Italian sports papers for footballers who have made at least 50% of Serie A appearances this term.’
The Nigerian, 27, moved to the top of the standings after grabbing his seventh league goal in 10 outings in Atalanta’s 3-1 victory over Parma at the weekend.
Football Italia ranks former Manchester United gaolkeeper, De Gea level with Lookman on average ratings after the Spaniard keept another clean sheet in Fiorentina’s 2-0 win over 10-man Como.
Lockman’s La Dea compatriot, Mateo Retegui completes the top three.
AC Milan’s Nigerian winger, Samuel Chukwueze was not listed by the highly authoritative website ostensibly due to the former Villarreal player’s indifferent, flipflop performance so far.
