Lookman set for Atalanta stay after skipping training on Wednesday

TuttoAtalanta, an Italian media outlet, is reporting that Ademola Lookman looks set to stay at the club following the meeting between the Nigerian’s representatives and the club.

Lookman, who asked to be left out of Atalanta’s opening Serie A game of the season at Leece on Monday and also skipped training on Wednesday, is set to rejoin the team in training and could be available for selection when the club visit the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on Sunday to play their host, Torino in a MatchDay 2 Serie A clash.

The Nigerian was reported to have been approached by French Ligue 1 side, PSG but the Parisians, despite reportedly agreeing personal terms with the forward, have not made any offivial bid to Atalanta.

Lookman has also been linked with Premier League giants, Arsenal and Liverpool but TuttoAtalanta is now reporting that a positive meeting has taken place between the club and agents of Lookman, describing the atmosphere where the meeting held as relaxed and it seems quite likely that the two parties are happy with each other.

‘It remains to be seen if Lookman’s salary will be adjusted in the new deal and that seems to have been the demand from the agents, with the player’s wage having stayed the same in the last two years.

‘As of now, he seems close to staying. But a fee of €50 million could make Atalanta consider a sale,’ wrote Get Italian Football News.
