Luis Díaz Thriving at Bayern, Says Move to Munich Was ‘Right Choice’

Luis Díaz has declared that leaving Liverpool for Bayern Munich was ‘the right choice,’ insisting he is thriving in Germany both on and off the pitch.

The Colombian winger, who joined the Bundesliga champions last summer in a £65 million move, has quickly become a key figure in Thomas Tuchel’s side.

His latest contribution came in the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid, where he opened the scoring in Bayern’s 2-1 victory.

Reflecting on his decision, Díaz said: ‘Deciding to join Bayern was the right choice. I’m really happy and I enjoy every match. I feel great, I’m in good shape, and that means I’m ready to help the team. We have a clear plan, we’re a very close-knit group, and that shows on the pitch.’

Liverpool supporters have been left ruing his departure, particularly as the club did not bring in a direct replacement.

Instead, 17-year-old Rio Ngumoha has been thrust into the role, carrying immense pressure while the Reds spent heavily elsewhere on attacking reinforcements such as Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, and Alexander Isak.

Club legend Steven Gerrard admitted he misses Díaz, while also commenting on Michael Olise, another Bayern star linked with Liverpool.

‘The problem is, why would he leave Bayern? They’re a big club, challenging for the big honours, and probably the strongest Bayern Munich team we’ve seen for a while. He looks happy, settled, and I don’t think he’s going anywhere.

‘But yes, would I love him at Liverpool? And you know what, I wouldn’t mind Díaz back as well. I’m missing him, I’m missing him.’
