MASA Isonyin Marathon 2025 Set to Electrify Ogun State on Saturday

The serene town of Isonyin is set to transform into a hub of athletic excellence and cultural celebration as the MASA Isonyin Marathon 2025 kicks off this Saturday, August 23.

The highly anticipated event, founded by Dr. Muideen Adegboyega Salami (MASA), promises a thrilling day of sport, community, and festivity, with over 2,500 runners expected to compete for glory and a share of the ₦10 million prize pool.

According to the official race day programme, the race will be officially flagged off at 7:00 AM, following a meticulously coordinated schedule that begins as early as 4:00 AM with the deployment of security and traffic operatives to strategic points along the route.

By 5:00 AM, hydration and refreshment stations will be fully stocked with water, fruits, sponges, and tables, ensuring optimal support for athletes throughout the course.

At 6:00 AM, the Route Manager will conduct a final inspection, while technical officials and volunteers mobilize to their designated positions. Runners will be arranged at the start point by 6:30 AM, and the road will be fully closed from the Start Point to Erunwon Police Post Junction at 6:45 AM to ensure a safe and uninterrupted race.

Dignitaries will take their positions by 6:50 AM, followed by the movement of lead and security vehicles into place at 6:55 AM. The race will then be flagged off promptly at 7:00 AM, marking the beginning of a high-stakes contest that will test endurance, strategy, and heart.

Spectators and VIPs will begin arriving at the finish line by 7:30 AM, with the first male runner expected to cross the line at 8:10 AM, followed by the first female runner at 8:25 AM. A brief music interlude will commence at 8:30 AM, setting the tone for the post-race celebrations.

The formal reception begins at 9:00 AM, featuring a welcome address by the Chief Host at 9:10 AM, followed by opening remarks from Hon. Wasiu Isiaka, Commissioner for Sports, at 9:20 AM. At 9:30 AM, the Saderirin of Isonyin will offer royal blessings, and at 9:40 AM, Dr. Salami will deliver his founder’s message, reflecting on the vision and impact of the marathon.

Goodwill messages will be shared at 9:55 AM, leading into the prize and medal presentation ceremony at 10:00 AM, where top performers will be honored for their achievements. The day will conclude with entertainment at 10:30 AM and a vote of thanks at 11:00 AM, wrapping up a landmark event that continues to elevate Isonyin’s profile on the national sports map.
