Mbeumo and Hakimi Are Africa’s Most Valuable Players
Bryan Mbeumo and Achraf Hakimi are the most valuable African footballers following the latest market values update by Transfermarkt on Monday, with both players pegged at €80 million, the highest valuations of their careers.
The March 2026 update, which lists African players valued at €50 million or more, places Mbeumo and Hakimi jointly at the top.
Mbeumo, the Cameroon winger who joined Manchester United in 2025, has reached his first career high, while Morocco’s Hakimi remains steady at his peak valuation with Paris Saint-Germain.
Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen is the only Nigerian in the top 10, valued at €75 million. Despite a dip from his career-high of €120m during his Napoli days in 2023, Osimhen continues to lead Nigeria and ranks third overall in Africa.
The rest of the top nine features a mix of rising stars and established names.
Ghana’s Antoine Semenyo has surged to €75m after his move to Manchester City, while Egypt’s Omar Marmoush has dropped to €60m from a previous high of €75m.
Cameroon’s Carlos Baleba is valued at €55m, alongside Ghana’s Mohammed Kudus, who holds steady at his career-high. Senegal’s Iliman Ndiaye has risen to €50m after strong Premier League displays with Everton, and Ivory Coast’s Amad Diallo also consolidates his breakthrough at Manchester United with a career-high €50m.
