Mondo Duplantis Secretly Marries Model Girlfriend Desirée Inglander

Olympic pole vault champion Mondo Duplantis has secretly married his longtime girlfriend, model Desirée Inglander, in a quiet ceremony at Stockholm City Hall.

The Swedish-American star, 26, confirmed the marriage to local outlet TT, explaining that while the legal ceremony has taken place, the couple will host their formal celebration in Cannes, France this summer.

Inglander, 24, has been a constant presence at Duplantis’s side, famously embracing him after his record-breaking Olympic triumph in Paris.

The pair became engaged shortly after the Games, with Duplantis proposing during a romantic getaway in The Hamptons. He revealed to Vogue Scandinavia that he staged the proposal under the guise of a fashion photoshoot, admitting he was ‘more nervous than at the Olympics’ before getting down on one knee.

Despite the secrecy, Duplantis expressed frustration when organisers of the Bislett Games in Norway disclosed that he would miss the June event due to his wedding.

‘It is what it is. It’s a wedding and it happens once in a lifetime. If you miss one or two competitions, who cares? If I have to miss a competition because of a wedding and marry the love of my life, it doesn’t matter,’ he said.

The couple’s families from Louisiana and Sweden were present for the proposal, and their summer wedding in France is expected to be a glamorous affair.

For now, Duplantis says he feels ‘half-married,’ waiting until June to wear his ring and celebrate fully.
