Moses, Yak top list of nine Nigerians who featured for multiple clubs in the Premier League

As many as 49 Nigerians have featured in the Premier League, the most interesting, competitive and glamorous league in the world.
Out of the 49, as many as nine have featured for at least three clubs in the course of their stay in the competition.
There are quite a handful of others who played for two clubs while many, like Austin Jay Jay Okocha left the Premier League a one-man club.

Victor Moses:
Presently playing in the Sky Bet Championship with Luton Town, former Super Eagles winger, Moses featured 220 times in the Premier League where he scored 20 goals and provided 18 assists. He was a Premier League winner with Chelsea in 2016/17.
Moses featured for five clubs during his sojourn in the competition, starting with Wigan Athletic, a club he played 80 times for with 74 of the games in the Premier League. Eight of his nine goals for the club came in the Premier League.
He moved to Chelsea in the 2021/13 season and featured for the west London times 87 times, scoring seven goals and provided seven assists.
Moses played 21 times for West Ham and 19 times each for Liverpool and Stoke City both on loan.

Yakubu Aiyegbeni:
Feed the Yak and he will deliver. That was the slogan during Aiyegbeni’s adventure in the Premier League and he truly delivered, scoring 95 goals, the most by a Nigerian in the history of the competition and in 252 appearances.
He featured for four clubs in the competition with Portsmouth his first club when he moved to England in the 2003/2004 season. He spent two seasons at Fratton Park where he scored 28 goals in 67 Premier League games.
He moved to Middlesbrough where he played for three seasons, and netted 25 goals in 73 appearances, same number of goals he scored for Everton after moving to the Goodison Park in the 2007/08 season.
The Yak ended his sojourn in England with Blackburn Rovers after spending five seasons at Everton. He scored 17 goals in 30 appearances for the club before exiting at the end of the 2011/12 season after two seasons.

Ade Akinbiyi:
Not very popular among Nigerians at home but Akinbiyi was a former Super Eagles player. He featured for three clubs in the Premier League and scored 11 goals in 76 appearances. All the 11 goals came in 58 appearances for Leicester City across two seasons. He also featured for Sheffield United (three times) and Norwich City (15 games).
Akinbiyi won 18 and lost 39 0f the 76 games he played in the competition.

Alex Iwobi:
Like Akinbiyi, Iwobi has featured for three different clubs and the 28 years old is just one of only three Nigerians to score for each of the three clubs.
Iwobi made his Premier League in October 2015 with Arsenal and went on to feature 100 times for the north London side, scoring 11 goals. He moved to Everton in the summer of 2019 and played 123 times in the competition for the Toffees and scored six times. It was at Everton he became the second Nigerian after Joseph Yobo to start and played in all 38 games of a Premier League season.
Iwobi has been with Fulham for the second season running and has netted 12 times in just 54 appearances.
Overall he has scored 29 times in the competition, provided 32 assists (the most by a Nigerian in the history of the competition) and has played the highest number of minutes. His 277 appearances are the second most by a Nigerian after Shola Ameobi’s 298.

Nwankwo Kanu:
‘Papilo,’ as Kanu is still fondly called was a member of the Arsenal team that made history in the 2003/2004 season when they went undefeated in the Premier League.
Kanu featured 119 times for Arsenal across six seasons in the Premier League and scored 30 times before moving to the Hawthorns where he played two seasons for West Brom. He scored seven goals in 52 appearances before switching to Portsmouth where he spent his last four seasons in the competition.
The Nigerian may have been known more for scoring the winner in the 2008 FA Cup final but in the league, he scored a few goals too (17 in 100 games).
Overall, Kanu, twice a Premier League winner (2001/02 and 2003/04) netted 54 goals in 273 games in the Premier League.

Victor Anichebe:
Anichebe spent nine seasons at Everton and scored 18 goals in 131 appearances before joining West Brom where he scored six times in 55 games across four seasons. He later moved to the Stadium of Light where he featured 18 times and scored three goals in his only season there.
Overall, Anichebe scored 26 times in 204 appearances and won 70 and lost 71 of the games.

Peter Osaze Odemwingie:
Osaze remains the only Nigerian to have won the Premier League Player of the month award more than once (thrice) in the seven seasons he spent in the English topflight league.
He featured for three clubs and scored 36 times in the 129 appearances that he made.
Two third of the goals came during his three seasons at West Brom where he featured in 87 games in the Premier League and scored 30 goals.
He scored five times in 27 games at Stoke City and just once in 15 games for Cardiff City.

Ademola Lookman:
Lookman may be making waves in the Serie A in Italy but he started his senior professional football in England where he played 96 times and scored 11 goals. Lookman spent his first three seasons at Everton where he scored just once in 36 games.
The Nigerian played on loan twice for two Premier League clubs viz Fulham and Leicester City. At Fulham he scored four times in 34 games while at the King Palace stadium, he netted six times in 26 games for the Foxes.

Ola Aina:
Aina has been one of the most consistent and in-form players in the Premier League so far this and the Nigerian has started all 24 Premier League games his club played so far this term.
The 28 year old started his Premier League career with Chelsea but was not that successful as he made only three substitute appearances.
Since his misadventure to Chelsea, Aina has featured for Fulham and Forest.
He scored twice in 31 games for Fulham in the 2020/21 season. He has played 46 times for Forest where he has scored three goals.
Overall, Aina has featured 80 times in the Premier League and scored five goals. He is a winner of the Premier League Goal of the Month once.
