Napoli owner, de Laurentiis hails and warns Osimhen

Napoli owner Aurelio de Laurentiis says Victor Osimhen’s quality as a player is never in doubt after the Nigerian put up another solid performance for his
club in their 3-2 loss to Real Madrid in a Champions League group phase game at the Armando Maradona stadium in Naples on Tuesday.

‘Always strong, he’s a player who makes a team on his own. That’s not up for discussion,’ said the Napoli owner.

The Nigerian scored 34% of the goals (26) that ensured Napoli won their first Serie A title in 33 years last term. His goals also crowned him the league’s
top scorer, the first African to top scored in the Serie A.

De Laurentiis also spoke about the Nigerian’s contract extension progress with a warning that most of the players who left Napoli have never been able to
display the quality the showed in Naples elsewhere.

‘There is no problem, there is never a problem: everyone in Napoli is always happy, the problem is when they leave they can no longer find the main road.’
