Napoli to start paying €193K weekly for Osimhen amid transfer uncertainty, Reports Il Mattino

Victor Osimhen remains a thorny issue for Napoli as the club continues to pay him a hefty €193,000 per week, despite unresolved transfer talks.

According to Il Mattino (via Alessandro Sepe, June 30, 2025), the Nigerian striker—once hailed as a hero—is now seen as a disruptive figure, with his future hanging in the balance.

The report paints a picture of growing frustration within the club: ‘He was a hero. But now he is an outcast. Between sulks and concerns, Victor Osimhen is still here. No one expected it. Napoli first.

‘From tomorrow still in the paycheck: to be exact, every week that passes from now, Napoli will pay 193 thousand euros.’

Despite a €75 million release clause, no club has yet secured his signature. Napoli is reportedly unsure whether to include him in their pre-season retreat in Trentino or leave him training separately at Castel Volturno, echoing last summer’s tensions.

The article also notes that Galatasaray, once interested, grew weary after waiting a month for a response that never came. As Il Mattino puts it, ‘Osimhen is a case. A bad case.’
