Ndidi among top five players with most Premier League fouls

Wilfred Ndidi is among the top five Premier League players that have committed the most fouls in the Premier League after 12 rounds of matches so far, this 2024/25 season.

The Nigerian who plays for Leicester City have committed more fouls than any Nigerian so far in the Premier League and his 22 fouls are the joint fifth most by any player in the competition.

Ndidi, with 990 minutes of Premier League football so far this season, is joint fifth with Brentford’s Antoine Semenyo while Lewis Cook of Bournemouth has committed the most fouls (28) in the 1,074 minutes of football in the competition.

Cook is followed by Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap who has committed 27 fouls and has played the fewest number of minutes (864) amongst the top 10.

Joint second with Delap but with a greater number of minutes (997) played is Newcastle’s Joelinton while Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Brazilian Joao Gomes (25 fouls in 1,020 minutes) and Moses Caicedo of Chelsea (23 fouls in 1,057 minutes) followed in that order.

Meanwhile, Ndidi has dropped from third to fifth in the best tackler category.

The Leicester City midfielder, once top of this category after seven rounds of matches, have made 37 tackles, five less than the 42 Manchester United’s Noussair Mazraoui has made to sit top of the ladder.

The Red Devil is followed by the South American duo of Moisés Caicedo (Ecuador) of Chelsea and Crystal Palace’s Colombia star, Daniel Muñoz who have made 41 each with Gomes 40 to make up the top four players before the Nigerian.

Ndidi was Premier League best tackler for two seasons (2017/18 and 2018/19) and second in another (2019/20).
