Ndidi Chooses Besiktas Over European Rivals in €9.5m Move

Besiktas are on the verge of completing the signing of Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City, with the player expected to arrive in Istanbul early Thursday morning to finalize the move.

The Turkish giants have reached a €9.5 million agreement with Leicester for the 28-year-old, who has spent over eight seasons at the English club.

Ndidi is set to undergo medicals and sign a three-year contract, with an option for a fourth year, as part of Besiktas’ midfield rebuild under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

Ndidi played 30 matches last season, scoring once and providing five assists. Despite having a contract with Leicester until 2027, the club’s relegation to the Championship and Besiktas’ persistent interest led to the transfer breakthrough.

The Nigerian international reportedly turned down interest from other European clubs, including Valencia and Real Betis, to join the Istanbul side.

Besiktas view Ndidi as a key figure in their push for domestic and European success, especially after their early exit from the UEFA Europa League.

His arrival is expected to bring stability and experience to the midfield.
