Ndidi rated among Leicester City’s best players in win against Bournemouth
Wilfred Ndidi was superb for the second straight Premier League game as he helped his side, Leicester City to end their wait for a first Premier League win following their hard fought 1-0 defeat of Bournemouth at the King Power stadium on Saturday.
The Nigerian started his seventh game in the Foxes seventh Premier League game on their return to the English topflight and the 27-year-old gave a performance that earned him plaudits from all, especially the hard to please Leicester City Mercury who rated the former KRC Genk player one of the players of the match on the side of the home side.
Ndidi was given a score of eight out of a maximum of 10 and the Leicester Mercury editors said a lot of positive things about the Nigerian who made his 199th appearance for the Foxes in the competition.
‘His (Ndidi’s) off-the-ball pressure made a difference for City in the first half, forcing mistakes out of Bournemouth. And in general, he did every part of his job well, whether it was battling for the ball, finding team-mates’ feet, or winning headers,’ wrote the newspaper.
Whoscored, a statistics website named Ndidi in its Premier League team of the month for September and the Nigerian could be named for the second straight month following his great performances against Arsenal last week and now Bournemouth.
