Ndidi ready to play anywhere for Leicester City on Premier League return

Wilfred Ndidi says he can play in any position he is deployed to by gaffer, Steve Cooper after the Nigerian extended his stay at the club by three more years.

The Nigerian struck six times for the Foxes last season on the way to the Sky Bet Championship title albeit he is usually a defensive midfielder, a position he excelled in and which made him the best Nigerian ever in terms of tackles made (694) and interceptions (390).

‘For me, I’m really, really open to any position on the pitch,’ he explained. ‘I just want to play football. It’s just exciting. I just want to play football, be myself, and with the help of my team – the players, the coaches, the staff – it’s just amazing.

‘When you know you love what you do, it comes naturally. Scoring goals… you know, if you score a goal, you’re always happy, but if you don’t score, you have to help the team. For me, I’m just very open to helping the team, which I think is very good for me.

‘There’s unfinished business that we have to continue.’

Ndidi has featured 273 times for Leicester City across all competitions and scored 17 goals and provided 17 assists.
