Ndidi Returns to Training, Could Feature for Beşiktaş Against Göztepe

Wilfred Ndidi could be available for selection when Beşiktaş host Göztepe on Sunday in a Super Lig Matchday 23 fixture at the Tupras Stadyumu, after the Super Eagles captain returned to training on Thursday following the burial of his father in Nigeria.

Ndidi senior passed away in a car accident, and the midfielder had been away from the squad to attend the funeral.

His comeback saw him train for over an hour with the rest of the team as preparations intensified for the crucial clash.

Since joining Beşiktaş from relegated Leicester City last summer, Ndidi has featured 17 times across competitions, scoring once and providing an assist in 16 Super Lig appearances.

His leadership has been vital for the Black Eagles, who currently sit fifth on the table with 40 points from 22 matches, just one point behind fourth-placed Göztepe.

The fixture promises to be a tight battle in the race for European qualification, and Ndidi’s return could provide Beşiktaş with a timely boost.
