Ndidi seeking to extend personal goal record Vs Chelsea

Wilfred Ndidi is back in action and will be keen to play when his club, Leicester City visit Stamford Bridge on Sunday to face Chelsea in a FA Cup quarterfinal tie.

Ndidi has featured 13 times against Chelsea since he moved to England from Belgium in January 2017 and the 27 year old has won just three of those games and drew three.

The Nigerian has had three goal involvement against the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League champion. His two goals and an assist against Chelsea have come in 10 Premier League appearances.

Ndidi will now be looking to score in his fourth FA Cup appearance against Chelsea and hopes to secure his second win after the Foxes famous ictory in the final of the competition in May 2021.

The two goals Ndidi has scored against Chelsea are the most he has scored against any side since he switched Belgium for England. He will now be aiming to extend the scoring record in Sunday’s game in west London.

The Super Eagle has been very impressive this season and has had seven goal involvements in 23 appearances, his most in a single season since he started playing for the Foxes.

Leicester City manager, Enzo Maresca says he is delighted Ndidi is back playing again.

The midfielder has featured in both of City’s last two matches after missing the last two months with injury, but Maresca has said that care will be taken in bringing him back into the action

He said: “We are trying to manage his situation [Ndidi]. He played 25 minutes vs Sunderland and 45 in the last game. We’ll see for Sunday’s game. With all the injured players, you have to be careful.”
