Nickisha Pryce ‘ready to bring my best to every race’ as she becomes a Grand Slam Track Racer

Nickisha Pryce looked to have laid down the gauntlet when she sped to a world leading 48.57 finish to win the 400m event at the London Diamond League meeting in London in July.

The Jamaican looked to have set up a potentially explosive 400m battle with reigning World champion, Marileidy Paulino who she had never raced against at that stage.

It however proved to be anti-climax as the 23 year old could not even make it to the final despite coming to the Games as the fastest woman in the world over the full lap race.

Pryce’s 50.77 finish only landed her in fourth position in the second of three semifinals won by Paulino who ran all the way to her first Olympic gold medal at the Games.

The 2024 NCAA 400m Champion who broke the NCAA record and Jamaican national record with her 48.89-second performance before improving her national record to 48.57 seconds now has an opportunity to prove she truly belongs among the best with her signing as a Grand Slam Track racer.
