Niger Delta Games Organisers Mourn Deputy Governor Ewhrudjakpo

The organisers of the Niger Delta Games, Dunamis‑Icon Limited, have extended their condolences to the government and people of Bayelsa State following the passing of the Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.

In a condolence message signed by the Managing Consultant, Sir Itiako Ikpokpo KSM, and personally delivered by the Project Director, Mr. Fred Edoreh, to the State Commissioner for Sports, Hon. Daniel Igali, at the Yenagoa Sports Complex on Wednesday, December 17, the organisation described the loss as deeply felt across the region.

Ikpokpo noted that Senator Ewhrudjakpo’s death was not only a blow to his family and the Bayelsa State government, but also to the wider Niger Delta and the national sports community.

He highlighted the late Deputy Governor’s significant contributions to nation‑building, both as a former Senator and as a committed advocate for sports development in the region and across Nigeria.

‘His passage is a huge loss, not only to the government and people of Bayelsa State, but also to the sports family nationwide,’ Ikpokpo said.

He added that the management and staff of Dunamis‑Icon Limited stand in solidarity with the state during this difficult time and pray for strength for all who mourn the late Deputy Governor.
