Nigeria 4-0 Mozambique: Eagles Keep First Clean Sheet in Six AFCON Games, Hits 62 Wins, Reach 12th Quarter-Final
Nigeria breaks new ground with four straight AFCON victories

The Super Eagles have secured their place in the quarter-finals of AFCON 2025 after keeping their first clean sheet in six matches, defeating Mozambique 4-0 to reach the last eight for the 12th time in their history.
Nigeria’s victory also ensured they avoided conceding their 100th goal in the competition, while marking their 62nd win at AFCON, second only to Egypt’s 64.
Both nations remain the only African teams to surpass the 60-win milestone.
Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman continue to shine in attack, each scoring three goals so far in the tournament.
Their form has put both strikers firmly in contention for the Golden Boot, underlining Nigeria’s attacking depth.
This triumph also marks a historic first: Nigeria have now won four consecutive matches from the group stage into the knockout phase, a feat never previously achieved by the Super Eagles.
