Nigeria Paravolley Federation Denies Appointment Claim

The Nigeria Paravolley Federation has strongly refuted reports circulating on social media that Paravolley Africa appointed Jackson Imandi as President of a so-called West Africa Development Commission.

Federation President Kayode Ladele dismissed the claim, stressing that the body in question does not exist within the West African paravolley structure.

‘At no time was the establishment of such a body discussed with member countries in the region, nor were its objectives, structure, or operational framework presented for consideration,’ Ladele said.

He explained that Nigeria’s federation was neither consulted nor formally notified before or after the alleged announcement, adding that no correspondence has been received from Paravolley Africa regarding the commission’s creation or the purported appointment.

Ladele described the development as troubling, particularly the suggestion that decisions affecting West Africa could be made without proper engagement with national federations.

‘How can Robinson Tumwesigye from Uganda unilaterally make an appointment for West Africa without consulting the national federation of the country from which the appointee originates?’ he asked.

Emphasizing that the process is inconsistent with established principles of sports administration in Nigeria, Ladele urged stakeholders and the public to disregard the reports until an official and properly communicated position is established.
