Boniface seeking to score against Monchengladback for the second season in a row, Adams eyes first win in three games Vs PSG
Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke will finally get the chance to make their LaLiga debut on Friday, August 23, and the duo will be seeking to follow in the footsteps of Chrisantus Uche, the little-known Nigerian who scored on his debut with Getafe on the opening weekend of the 2024/2025 LaLiga season.
Iheanacho was not registered early enough with LaLiga to enable him to make his debut last Friday at Las Palmas while Ejuke was an unused substitute in the game but Sevilla FC Head Coach, García Pimienta, says the two Nigerians will play some part when the club hosts Villarreal at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.
In Germany, Victor Boniface will be hoping he scores for the second straight Bundesliga season against Borussia Monchengladbach who they will face in their season opener away at the Stadion im Borussia-Park on Friday.
Interestingly, Boniface, who was fined 25,000 euros and banned for one cup game for an unsportsmanlike conduct during the German Super Cup win over Stuttgart last week, scored twice on his first visit to theStadion im Borussia-Park where his club, Bayer Leverkusen ran away 3-0 winners.
An adductor injury prevented the 23 year old from featuring in the return leg at the BayArena which ended goalless in January this year.
Nathan Tella will also hope to be in action and score his first goal against their host in two games.
In France, Akor Adams will be seeking to play in his 35th Ligue game when his side, Montpellier travel to the capital, Paris to face Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes on Friday.
The Nigerian, born in Kogi state and has scored 10 times in the competition, will be hoping for his first victory against the reigning Ligue 1 champions.
