‘No Arguments’: Aston Villa Forward, Rogers Admits Arsenal Were Superior

Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers admitted Arsenal were simply too strong after the league leaders produced a devastating second-half display to secure a 4–1 victory at the Emirates.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Rogers praised his side’s first-half effort but conceded that once Arsenal broke the deadlock, the momentum swung decisively.

‘We were really good in the first half, really proud of how we played. On another day we might’ve created one more clear-cut chance to go in front, but they were really solid and really good.’

Arsenal’s clinical finishing proved decisive, with four goals in half an hour after the break. Rogers acknowledged that Villa had to ‘ride their luck’ but ultimately could not withstand the pressure.

‘Nothing really changed on either side in the second half, but once you get that opening goal then the momentum comes with it. When the goals started coming thick and fast, you knew it was done,’ he added.

Despite the heavy defeat, Rogers urged Villa to take pride in their recent winning run, which had propelled them into the title conversation. He also reflected on refereeing decisions, including Mikel Merino’s challenge while already booked, but stressed that such calls are part of the game.

‘The better team won today, so there can be no arguments,’ Rogers concluded.
