‘No Reason to Be Sad’: Romero Consoles Akor Adams After Derby Miss

Sevilla striker Akor Adams has been reassured by teammate Isaac Romero after missing a stoppage-time chance that could have sealed victory in Sunday’s derby against Real Betis.
The clash at La Cartuja ended 2-2, with Adams visibly frustrated at failing to convert the late opportunity.
Romero, who scored the equalizer and played a key role in Sevilla’s spirited comeback from two goals down, was quick to console the Nigerian forward.
Speaking to DAZN, Romero praised Adams’ effort and insisted the striker should not dwell on the miss.
‘He has no reason to be sad, he has worked very well, he has done everything he could and he should be happy for this valuable point,’ Romero said, as quoted by Ondacero.
He emphasized that the draw reflected Sevilla’s fighting spirit and highlighted the importance of unity within the squad, noting that their halftime discussions about focus and resilience helped spark the turnaround.
Despite the missed chance, Adams has been an important figure for Sevilla this season, contributing six goals and three assists in La Liga.
