NOC President Habu Gumel bags FIVB, CAVB awards

The president of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), Engr. Habu Ahmed Gumel, FNGE, oon, has been awarded with the African Order of Merit of the Confederation of African Volleyball for Long service.
This also includes his contributions to the Development of Volleyball in Africa and beyond during the CAVB Elective Congress in Marakash, Morocco on Sunday, August 18, 2024.
Presenting the awards to Engr. Gumel, the FIVB, President, Ary Graca and CAVB President, Bouchra Hajij congratulated him for a job well done over the years in ensuring the growth of the game in Nigeria, Africa and beyond.
Engr. Gumel, then, thanked the FIVB as well as the CAVB for finding him worthy of such award,  promising not to rest on his oars in ensuring the growth of the game.
“The significance of this award is for me to do more than I’ve been doing over the years for volleyball.
”I’m glad for been recognized and and awarded but also promise to do more in ensuring the upliftment of the game especially on the continent.”
Engr. Gumel is a Member of the International Olympic Committee,  Executive vice president CAVB and Executive vice president FIVB.
He was also formidable member of the Nigerian Volleyball Community where he was at a time President of the Volleyball Federation.
