‘Not even Messi and Ronaldo can compare to hat-trick hero, Haaland,’ says Hargreaves and Pearce

Guardiola: 'Erling’s unstoppable, there’s no central defender, not even with a gun, to stop him'

Owen Hargreaves and Stuart Pearce say Man City striker Erling Haaland is becoming one of the legends of football after he scored a hat-trick in the 3-1 defeat of West Ham United in a Premier League Matchweek 3 game at the London stadium on Saturday.

The Norwegian has now scored eight Premier League hat-tricks in just 69 games to move level with Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, Harry Kane and Michael Owen who achieved their after 258, 320 and 326 matches respectively.

Haaland is just four behind Sergio Aguero who netted his 12 hat-tricks but in 275 games, three behind Alan Shearer in 441 matches and just one behind Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler who reached the figure in 379 games.

Hargreaves says the numbers are astonishing.
‘We have never ever seen anyone, not even Messi and Ronaldo put up these numbers,’ says the former Man City and Man United player.
Another former Man City player, Pearce shared in Hargreaves’ sentiments.

Meanwhile, Haaland has told Man City official website of his desire to score even more goals.

‘I like scoring these goals. I like to shoot a little bit hard sometimes. Not only easy shots. It’s good to get a little bit of power out of my body. I’m happy. Of course, three points is the most important thing so I’m happy.

‘I feel more refreshed and more energised. So when you do that you can practice on things you want to become better at out of training. I feel good. I want to become better. I’m happy,’ he said.

Pep Guardiola, Haaland coach at Man City says his number 9 is unstoppable.

‘Erling’s unstoppable, there’s no central defender, not even with a gun, to stop him. He’s playing much better in everything. The details, he stays 20 minutes or half an hour after training sessions,’ Guardiola told the club’s website.
