NPFL: Ahmed Musa’s Kano Pillars hero for the second time this season

Former Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa’s 75th minute goal rescued a point for Kano Pillars in their Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL’s matchday 12 clash with Heartland of Owerri and on their return to their home ground, the Sani Abacha stadium.

After a goalless first half, Suraju Lawal scored the first of his two goals on 51 minutes to put the visitors ahead before veteran forward, Rabiu Ali evened scores six minutes later.

Lawal was on song again two minutes later to put Emmanuel Amuneke’s side into the lead once again and the Owerri side looked to be running with what would be their fourth straight win and second on the road until Musa struck with 15 minutes left in regulation time.

This would be the second time Musa would score an important goal for Kano Pillars after rejoining the club in October.

The 32 year scored the winner on 92nd minute in Kano Pillars 2-1 defeat of Plateau United.

Musa also scored what turned out to be the winner in the thriller at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium in Enugu where Kano Pillars went, saw and conquered their host, Enugu Rangers 4-3.

The former Leicester City of England forward scored the fourth goal for the visitors who raced to a 4-0 first half lead before the host rallied to score three goals in the second half.
