NPFL: Another late goal denies Amokachi first win as Lobi Stars coach

It was a 90th minute goal by Emmanuel Olawale Ayodele that denied Daniel Amokachi a debut win as Lobi Stars coach last weekend against Niger Tornadoes at the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna.

Four days later, another late goal, an 86th minute strike by Ibrahim Mustapha, his second of the game has denied Amokachi his first home win after he watched his side surrendered a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with visiting El Kanemi Warriors at the Lafia Township stadium.

Amokachi’s Lobi Stars had gone 2-0 up courtesy Ossy Martins’ 17th and 53rd minutes brace but the visitors extended their unbeaten run in the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League to six games via their 57th and 86th minute goals.

Amokachi has now drawn his first two games in charge of Lobi Stars and will be hoping for his first victory when he travels down to Lagos to face Ikorodu City FC at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan this weekend.
