NPFL: Heartland seek maximum points in Uyo as birthday gift for Amenueke
Heartland FC of Owerri are in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom state as they aim for their second away win when they face their host, Akwa United in a Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, match day 18 game at the Godswill Akpabio stadium.
The Naze Millionaires, as Emmanuel Amuneke’s Heartland are called, have drawn twice and won once away from home but are confident of a second win in Uyo on Monday evening.
The Owerri-based side say the are going all out for a win against the Promise Keepers.
‘After the disappointment of the home draw with Bendel Insurance, we are in Uyo to go all out for the maximum points against the Promise Keepers.
‘We are the Naze Millionaires!’ the club wrote on their social media page.
Heartland have defied bookmakers’ expectations with their consistent performances and aim to deliver an early birthday gift to coach Emmanuel Amuneke, who turns a year older on Christmas Day.
Amuneke and Heartland are however facing a team that has won four and drawn two of their last six games since they lost 2-1 to Sunshine Stars at the end of September.
