Kun Khalifat FC delivered a commanding performance in Owerri, stunning Shooting Stars SC with a 2-0 victory at the Dan Anyiam Stadium on matchday 25 of the Nigeria Premier Football League season.
The Pride of Imo State were relentless from the start, overwhelming the Oluyole Warriors with pace, energy and precision, and extending their unbeaten run to three matches while recording back-to-back clean sheets.
The breakthrough came midway through the first half when James Ekebuike struck in the 24th minute, igniting the home crowd and setting the tone for the rest of the contest.
Blessed Iyamu then doubled the advantage just two minutes into the second half, effectively sealing the win and leaving Shooting Stars with no way back.
From that point on, Kun Khalifat controlled proceedings with authority. Their defense absorbed every attempt from the visitors, while the midfield dictated the rhythm of play.
Shooting Stars struggled to impose themselves, undone by the intensity and composure of the Oba Boys.

Shooting Stars’ manager admitted his side had given away too many chances and would need to regroup quickly.
“We gave away too many chances, and KKFC capitalized on them. We need to work on our defending and take responsibility for our mistakes. We’ll regroup and come back stronger,’ said Aweroro.
For Kun Khalifat, the victory was a statement of intent as they continue to climb the NPFL table. Their next test comes against Barau FC in Kano, while Shooting Stars must find answers if they hope to bounce back from a disappointing night in Owerri.
